Omar Vincent Sangkola Duterte (born January 26, 1994) is a Filipino politician. He is the eldest son of Paolo Duterte and Lovelie Sangkola. His paternal grandparents are former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Elizabeth Zimmerman.
Early life and family
Duterte was born on January 26, 1994.[1] His mother, Lovelie Sangkola, is Muslim, and he was raised in the Islamic faith.[2] He is part of the prominent Duterte political family, which has held significant influence in Davao City and national politics for decades. His brother, Rodrigo II, is also involved in local politics.[3]
Political career
Duterte's political career began as a barangay chairperson in Buhangin, Davao City. [4] In 2025, he was elected as the representative for Davao City's 2nd congressional district.[5]
Controversies
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Duterte was involved in an incident at a grocery store where he was accused of cutting a queue. He later made a public apology concerning the incident.[6]
